Thinking About Eyeliner Enhancement PMU?

Eyeliner Enhancement PMU (Permanent Makeup) is a cosmetic tattooing technique that applies pigment to the upper or lower eyelids, creating the look of eyeliner. It’s designed to enhance the lash line and give the appearance of fuller, defined eyes, lasting for several years. Various styles are available, from a natural-looking lash enhancement that subtly darkens the lash line to more dramatic winged or shaded effects.

Heres What You Need To Know

Eyeliner PMU (Permanent Makeup) is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo that enhances the eyes by adding pigment along the lash line or creating a soft eyeliner effect, offering a long-lasting solution to daily makeup.

Follow these guidelines before your eyeliner tattoo appointment to ensure the best results and reduce complications:

Avoid Blood Thinners
Do not consume alcohol, caffeine, aspirin, ibuprofen, or fish oil supplements for 24–48 hours before your appointment, as they can cause excess bleeding and pigment loss.

No Lash Enhancements
Remove eyelash extensions at least 3 days prior to your appointment. Lash growth serums (like Latisse) should be discontinued at least 4 weeks before your treatment.

Avoid Eye Irritation
Do not wear contact lenses to your appointment. Bring glasses if needed. Contacts may be worn again after 24–48 hours post-procedure.

No Makeup On Eyes
Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin. Avoid using mascara, eyeliner, or eyeshadow on the day of your appointment.

Cold Sores or Eye Infections
If you are prone to cold sores or eye infections (e.g., styes, conjunctivitis), inform your technician. You may be advised to take an antiviral medication beforehand.

Botox or Fillers
Avoid Botox or dermal fillers in the eye area for at least 2 weeks prior to your appointment.

Avoid Tanning or Sunburn
Do not tan or get sunburnt for at least one week before your session, especially around the eye area.

Do Not Touch or Rub
Avoid touching, rubbing, or scratching the treated area. This can lead to infection or pigment loss.

Keep It Dry
Avoid water, sweat, steam, and tears near the eyes for the first 7–10 days. Be cautious when washing your face.

No Eye Makeup
Do not apply mascara, eyeliner, or eyeshadow for at least 10 days after the procedure. Only apply products once fully healed.

No Contact Lenses for 24–48 Hours
Wait at least 24–48 hours before wearing contact lenses to prevent irritation.

Avoid Swimming and Saunas
No swimming, hot tubs, saunas, or intense exercise for 7–10 days to avoid moisture and heat exposure.

No Picking or Peeling
Let the skin flake naturally. Do not pick at any scabs or flakes as this can remove pigment and cause scarring.

Apply Healing Ointment if Advised
If instructed by your technician, use a thin layer of approved healing balm with a clean cotton swab. Do not over-apply.

Watch for Reactions
Some swelling, redness, or tenderness is normal for the first 1–3 days. Contact your technician if you experience severe pain, pus, or prolonged swelling.

Sleep On Your Back
Try to sleep on your back for the first few nights to avoid pressure or contamination to the eye area.

Schedule a Touch-Up
A perfecting session is typically needed 6–8 weeks after your initial procedure to adjust shape or color as needed.

Healing Can Affect Pigment: During the healing process, some areas may fade more than others, or the color might lighten. A touch-up corrects any unevenness.

Enhance Color and Shape: The initial session lays the foundation; the touch-up strengthens the pigment, sharpens lines, and adjusts thickness or style if needed.

Skin Type Matters: Oily, mature, or sensitive skin may not retain pigment evenly and may benefit more from a second session.

Touch-ups are typically scheduled 6–8 weeks after the initial appointment, once the skin is fully healed.

Delaying beyond 12 weeks may result in more fading and could require a more extensive refresh instead of a standard touch-up.
